Spotlight On…The Bread Factory

the bread factory

Step back in time and be inspired by the warehouses that once stood on the Canary Wharf waterline. We pay homage to the time passed with our Grocer by offering local, seasonal and ethically sourced produce in this unique East London market inspired store.

This month, we take a further look into the supplier of our top-quality, artisan bread

Each day we sell out of our tasty artisan bread that comes straight from The Bread Factory. The factory’s mission statement is “Our bread is handmade with patience, skill and the best ingredients, innovating for some of the best chefs in London and the UK. At the heart of it all are our many favourite recipes, our like-minded suppliers, our dedicated team and most importantly soulful, delicious and healthy bread.”

Gail Stephens is the brain behind the business and back in 1993 when the factory was set up, Gail’s processes and produce were years ahead of the competition, which has helped lead to the overall success of the brand now. Shortly after establishing the brand Gail met Ran Avidan and Tom Molnar, who were blown away with Gail’s creations so much so, that the three joined to produce the most delicious breads, pastries and cakes in the country.

Fast forward to 2019 and Dean Arbel manages the team that are still producing beautiful fresh creations each and every day. The business state that they are here to strive to meet their customers’ needs, no matter what it takes – from having a team on call each week, ensuring deliveries arrive on time and making the most soulful and delicious bread.
